We hope you are having a wonderful summer and are ready to get the new school year started. To prepare for the 22/23 school year we want to update you regarding campus information. Please review the below information to ensure a successful start to our year. We are excited to have our students back on campus.

Student check-in began last week. Any student who has not checked in should plan to come to campus prior to July 22nd. This entire week we will have staff meetings, the available hours for student check-in are as follows:
Mica Mountain Office Hours (Week of July 18-21)

All students interested in participating in athletics for the 2022-23 school year will need a physical on the AIA form completed March 1, 2022, or later.  We will be hosting a Physical Fair on Tuesday, July 26th in the Mica Mountain Gym from 5:40-7:30 P.M.  Physicals will be $20 and the money will go to our Sports Medicine Program. Physicians will be providing the physicals to currently enrolled Mica Mountain and Vail Academy High School students in grades 9th-12th and spots can be reserved by signing up for an appointment Click Here.

SAFETY AT MICA MOUNTAIN: The safety of our students and staff is the number one priority for our amazing school district.  The foundation for a safe school is built on the connectedness of the community it serves, strong partnerships with parents, and proactive planning of security measures. There are a few Emergency Procedures that we want to make sure all families have a clear understanding of:   Fire/Evacuation: Evacuation occurs when it is safer to be outside than inside. Lockdown: Lockdowns will be put into effect when there is an immediate threat of violence in or around the school.  Shelter-In-Place: Shelter in Place will be put into effect when the conditions outside are not safe. Instruction will continue but there will be no movement throughout campus. One of our greatest resources are parents who willingly volunteer on campus. To help with school safety, if you are an active and current first responder with a current responder certification, please take a few moments to complete the survey below if you are interested in volunteering on the Mica Mountain campus.

We will use this information to connect with you in regards to an upcoming meeting to discuss volunteering on our campus this next school year. The safety of our students and staff is of the utmost importance to us. We are humbled that you chose to be a part of our Thunderbolt family this school year. We continue to be honored to serve you and your family.

Please CLICK HERE for the survey if you are a current 1st Responder and willing to volunteer on campus.

Please know that our campus includes two parking lots. Our student parking lot and our staff/visitor parking lot. The parking lot that is to the east of the school is for Vail Inclusive Parking ONLY. There is to be NO PARKING, NO DROP OFF, and NO PICK UP in the Vail Inclusive Preschool parking lot. Please be patient with afterschool traffic, if possible, it is recommended to pick up students closer to 4:00 PM.  Click Here to View the parking area for drop-off and Click Here to view the pickup area for Mica Mountain.

Students are required to show their school ID to our security staff prior to entering campus from the front of the school and the entrance from the bus bay before coming onto campus.
