CURRICULUM AND GRADING:
Students will be using Vail Teacher-Created courses in Schoology, focusing on 1st quarter objectives. A content-area teacher will be available each day for students and direct instruction will be provided.
Students will have the option to complete two courses per day on campus. Students who need additional time will be allowed to work at home until 6:00 pm, at which time courses will be locked.
In-person attendance is mandatory.
Students with IEP and 504 accommodations will have a certified teacher and paraprofessional available to assist and modify instruction for their specific needs.
The grade earned in Intersession will be averaged with the grade earned in the 1st quarter. This newly averaged grade will then become the official 1st quarter grade, up to an 80%.
NOTE: Intersession can only raise grades; it cannot lower them. Students must complete the intersession course to receive the grade increase.
EXAMPLE:
Quarter 1 grade of 50%
Intersession grade of 80%
The average of the two is 65%
Now 65% is the new official Quarter 1 grade for that class.
