Future Thunderbolts,

We are excited to welcome a new class of freshmen into our school.  At Mica Mountain, incoming freshmen student-athletes have the opportunity to begin their athletic career when summer begins.  Below are the times available for weight training, 8:00 A.M.-9:00 A.M. for incoming freshmen along with the dates of training.  We have also posted specific times, dates and contact info for freshmen based on their specific sport, if available.  Only students who have a physical dated March 1, 2023 or later and have registered for athletics on https://www.registermyathlete.com/login/ may take part in sports for the 2023-24 School Year.  This includes summer participation!  We will be having a Physical Fair for students in need of a physical on Wednesday, May 10th from 5-7 at the Mica Mountain High School training room.  The cost is $20.  Please print a form from this link and bring it with you to the Physical Fair. https://mmhs.vailschooldistrict.org/o/mmhs/page/athletics click on the 23-24 physical packet after you click on the link.

Girls Basketball:
Congratulations and welcome all new Bolts.  If you are a young baller and interested in girls basketball come and join us for the Lady Bolts summer program.  It will run on May 27th from 9 -11 am, May 29th from 10 am to Noon and all of June on Monday, Wednesday and Friday’s  from 4 to 6 pm.  Each time we will be in the Thunderdome.  Come join us to get acclimated and work on your skills.  Can’t wait to see you then.  [email protected]

Cross Country:

Mica Mountain Cross Country Team Vision: Pursue a healthy lifestyle by balancing our mental health with running and positive relationships. We train from June to late November and compete in local and out of state Cross Country races (typically 5k distance). Our team is over 45 athletes strong consisting of all grade levels and abilities (9-12). In 2020, we sent one athlete to state. In 2021 we sent a boys team (7) and one girl to state. In 2022 we sent the boys team and two girls. We're goal-focused on sending both teams in the Fall of 2023. In 2022 we embarked on our first out of state meet to the Mt. Sac Invitational (and our Frosh boys placed 8th!) and continue to host the annual Vail Jingle Trail races in December. Swim
Mica Mountain Swim welcomes Thunderbolts interested in swimming! There are no tryouts and all levels are welcome. Boys Volleyball:
The Mica Mountain Boys Volleyball will be having open gyms and conditioning throughout the summer. If you are interested in boys volleyball or would like to try it out and see what you think please join us. In May we will be in the gym Tuesday and Friday from 5:30-7:30. In June we will be Wednesday and Friday from 6-8 and Saturday from 4-6. If you are interested or have any questions please reach out to me so I can keep you updated on our activities. Wrestling:
Incoming Freshmen Wrestlers - Weightlifting in the morning at 8am with the other freshmen.
For all wrestlers also playing football, practice will be Monday thru Thursday 430 - 6pm so you can also participate in summer football
For all wrestlers NOT playing football, practice will be Monday thru Thursday 6-730pm
