welcome2027

Class of 2027,

I would like to welcome you to Mica Mountain High School. You are now a Thunderbolt! As I go into my 30th year in education, it is clear to me how special Mica Mountain High School is with our exceptional staff, students, and parents who care deeply for each other. At Mica Mountain, we offer high-level academics and many extracurricular activities. Our fine arts, Career and Technical Education (CTE), and athletic programs aim to be amongst the best in the state. We also offer an extensive number of clubs, which students are encouraged to join. Becoming a high school student is both exciting and challenging. Please know we are here for you, and we will help guide you to success. Our daily mission is to build outstanding leaders through service.

We are ready to begin the registration process, and we have some important information to share. On our website, http://mmhs.vailschooldistrict.org/, under the counseling link, you will find the Class of 2027 registration information. Please review your course options so you have time to think about which courses to select during the first week of April. The Course Description Book is also available for your convenience under the counseling link on our website.

Our Thunderbolt Advanced Scholar Academy (TASA) is a program that focuses on providing our academically advanced and motivated students with opportunities to complete rigorous coursework and receive systemic support services with the purpose of having an advantage in gaining entrance into highly selective universities/colleges. TASA students are required to complete a minimum of 16 Advanced Placement (AP), Dual Enrollment, or Honors classes to graduate from this program. To participate in this program apply here by March 30, 2023. If you qualify for TASA, you will be contacted with specific TASA registration information.

(Please note: students do not have to participate in the TASA program to take AP, Dual Enrollment, or honors courses)

Classes are not assigned on a first-come-first-served basis. All students who attend registration will be loaded into their classes at the same time. Arriving at 5:00 p.m. on the first day of registration does not increase your chances of getting the classes you wish to enroll in. Please plan to arrive on time to one of the sessions listed below.
